Hari If you're using Windows, then you should have native support for SSH already. From the command line, try ssh username@ipaddress and press enter. If you have the username and password, that should get you in. If we are taking the route we discussed, then the next stage is to install VirtualMin ?
20min i will do it after having my dinner
phenomlab next stage is to install VirtualMin ?
phenomlab sure, thanks for this
@Hari this might help
Hari hi sir, i am back. i have the key and the ip address where can i get the username?
Hari Should be root
phenomlab i am using windows PowerShell the username is root and its offering me to change password , when i am entering password its closing the session
Hari Why are you using Powershell ? Use the command prompt
phenomlab i thought i would get good clipboard options.
now trying in the cmd prompt but still facing the same issue. its saying permission deined
i have tried resetting the key and updated new passowrd
failing at password change stage
yay, i am finally in root. now on the way to install the virtual min
Hari Don't forget to use the NGINX version
phenomlab i am at step4
hope i will get an a option to select NGINX
Hari If you're at step 4, you've missed it
You'll probably need to rebuild the box and start again. This time, use the command --bundle-LEMP
phenomlab i have used this command
wget http://software.virtualmin.com/gpl/scripts/install.sh do i still need to start again?
commands in the video and at this link are a bit different https://www.virtualmin.com/download/
Hari Not necessarily if you don't want to, but that command will install Apache by default meaning you'll need to perform these steps afterwards
phenomlab i am at this step
should i perform these commands now or i need to follow the video?
phenomlab you’ll need to perform these steps afterwards
Hari i am at this step
Sorry - a but of clarity here. See this
So basically, ./install.sh --bundle-LEMP
phenomlab shall i send logins at discord? or let's practice here? 😂 excuse me for not following instructions carefully
Hari Seems VirtualMin have chosen to pull back their latest release. Can you install Ubuntu 20.04 instead and try again ? It does mean a rebuild I'm afraid.
phenomlab i think there is no option to change os version like we do for php at the digital ocean, do i need to destroy this droplet?
Hari Really ? You should have the option to rebuild it with your chosen OS and version ?
phenomlab idk :s (confused)
i only see the above options
